Release FormA release form must be filled out for each race participant at each venue. Minors under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the release form in order to race. Click here for the Soldier Hollow release form. Click here for the Sundance release form. SafetyAll participants must wear an approved helmet in order to participate or pre-ride the courses. Number PlatesNumber plates must be used to participate in any of the races and are non-transferable. Number plates are valid only for the current race year and may not be carried over from year to year. They may be purchased for a cost of $10/per plate per season. If approved by the race director a racer may continue to use a previous year’s race number assuming that number has not been issued for the current year, but the race number fee must still be paid. Obtaining a season race number is the first step in qualifying individual racers for weekly, year end, and point series prizes and drawings. It is the responsibility of each racer to remember his/her season number plate each week and to have it attached to his/her bike in a location readily visible to the race timers and organizers. Pull TagsThis year we will be using pull tags to facilitate accuracy in our race results. Pull tags must be attached to the back side of each rider's jersey each race in order to receive results for each week’s race. It is the responsibility of each racer to fill out, at a minimum, his/her name, category, and race number. It's as simple as this, no tag, no time! Your pull tag is also your raffle ticket, so make sure they get turned in at the finish line, even if you dnf. Punch PassesPunch passes may be purchased and are good for use at both venues. Passes are non-refundable, but are transferable so you can share them with a friend. Passes are like cash and cannot be replaced if lost or stolen. Punch passes are good for the current season only; they do not carry over from year to year. Kid's RacesIn an effort to create a non-intimidating environment for young kids to push the limits on their mountain bikes we have created a new race series. These races are targeted for kids 11 and under. They are designed to be fun but challenging at the same time. This is a grass roots event and will be fun for everyone. The races will be divided into these categories: ages 5 & Under, 6 - 7, 8 - 9, and 10 -11. The race will last anywhere from 8 to 15 minutes. A seperate prize raffle will be held after each race, sposored by Park's Sportsman. * Season points are not accumulated for kid's races and participants are not elegible for the year end raffle prize. PrizesWeekly Prizes - Each week we have a prize raffle drawing for all eligible participants in that week’s race. All eligible participants have an equal chance to win one of the great prizes donated by our generous sponsors each week. You must be present to win. Finale Raffle - At the end of the year we have a finale raffle for eligible participants (see below). This raffle has some great prizes; for those who qualify there is usually a Fuji mountain or cross bike, season pass to Sundance, overnight stays at various resorts, and other great prizes. Points Series Prizes – those who qualify as one of the top 3 in each category are eligible for product gift certificates from some of our great suppliers: $100 for 1st place, $50 for 2nd place, and $25 for 3rd place. DisputesDisputes in timing and weekly standings must be cleared up before the next week’s race or they will stay as posted in the results. This goes for participation in races as well as rankings since eligibility for the finale prize drawing and season points race are contingent on the posted results sheet. Eligibility for Finale RaffleYou must participate in at least 10 races to qualify for the finale raffle. Each race after 10 will earn the participant 1 additional raffle ticket to be entered into the finale raffle. The 10 race policy is a firm policy. Please keep track of your race participation on the results sheet and make sure you do not miss by just one, and please do not ask to be the exception to this rule. You must be present to win. Eligibility for Season Points RaceTo qualify as a season points race top 3 winner you must have participated in at least 5 races. You must be present to win. BiathlonThe mountain biathlon event which is held once a month at Soldier Hollow is one of the most fun events of the series. It combines a short, high adrenaline mountain bike course with Olympic style range shooting. Each participant races around the designated course, comes into the shooting range, does his/her best at hitting 5 targets with 5 pellets shot from air guns provided by Soldier Hollow then races back out onto the course for another lap. Those who do not hit all five targets do a small penalty lap for each target missed before re-entering the regular race course loop. Depending on your category you will do between 3-5 laps around the race course and shooting range. A safety meeting is held just before race start time on biathlon event days. During the safety meeting participants receive all the general and safety instructions they will need to enjoy this great event. No special equipment or knowledge is required to participate in this event, just regular race clothing. Air guns and pellets are provided by soldier hollow, no personal air guns or other biathlon shooting equipment is allowed at this event. CategoriesThere are 4 racing categories for the Men and 3 for the Women. Men: Women: PointsPoints are accumulated as follows: Pro/Expert Points
Sport/Beginner Points
